Why does Jesus encourage Mary to lie?

In John 20:17 Jesus tells Mary ' Touch me not for I am not yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brethren an say unto them," I ascend unto my Father, and your Father, and to my God and to your God".'.

Sounds like he's telling her to lie, doesn't it?

Why does Jesus encourage Mary to lie?
Better translation is "I am ascending"; He was in the process of finishing His gifts to the Apostles prior to ascension. He had not asceneded yet, but wanted the Apostles to know he was preparing to do so.
Reply:Not necessarily, he could be saying I have not ascended yet but by the time you tell them I have.
Reply:No.
Reply:Where is the lie, he had not ascended yet, and He was going to ascend. He told Mary to go tell the others this. Explain more please.
Reply:No...He is telling her where He is now, and to tell the others where He is going.
Reply:Pray for understanding!!
