I'M AFRICAN AMERICAN AND I'M THINKING A WHITE GUY IS INTERESTED IN THIS SISTA. HE KEEPS TOUCHING ME NOT SEXUALLY, DIRTY MINDERS. THIS WOULD BE MY VERY FIRST INTERRACIAL DATING EXPERIENCE. HE WAS MY MUSIC TUTOR FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. IF ANYONE HAS THE SAME EXPERIENCE PLEASE GIVE ME SOME MUCH NEEDED INPUT ON THIS SUBJECT AND PLEASE PLAY NICE BOYS AND GIRLS. i think you should go for it...would you date him if he was the same color as you? if the answer is yes, then you should date him. but i agree with what other people have said...he needs to share your beliefs and be a christian.

Just keep in mind that you MUST be open minded while in the relation, since your culture needs to mix with his culture, and the differences between each one might be huge.
Reply:I'm for mixing races, but I'm not sure about with white people. I think mixing with other minorities is cool though.
Reply:i think you should totally go for it. Race shouldnt have snything to do with the way you feel about a certain person. Dont let any thing stand in the way of the feelings that you have. There is nothing wrong about interacial dating. and even marriage for that matter!:)

Reply:Interracial dating is perfectly fine. The only thing that matters is that he shares your Christian beliefs and is saved. Other than that, your options are open.
Reply:Go for it honey, My sister's husband is white and he's cool. If you look around you, it's becoming more and more common. Soon there will be a whole race of "other", not just black, white and hispanic ( in reference to filling out surveys). I say you just follow you heart regarless of race.
Reply:I don't think there is anything wrong with it. If you want to have babies with a white guy, that is fine. I personally wouldn't do it because I know bi racial people with identity problems, but like I said, I think there is nothing wrong with it, and I wouldn't think bad of anyone for having bi racial kids. The only way I might do it is if the other race was really close to mine like if the other person was a really like Mexican or Cuban because then no one would be able to tell. But, you should just be brave and do it. Your kids would be fine. I'm just a little up tight like that. That's why I woudn't do it.

Reply:Here is my take on this... The issue should not be skin color, but rather cultural differences. An african american family is different from a typical white family. That's a good thing! That is what makes the different cultures unique. If people think the only difference between races was skin color, then they are sadly mistaken. There are beliefs, customs, historical heritages etc. that make you unique. That said, that is what has to be looked at. Are you or the other person willing to accept each others cultural differences? It's sad that our society would be more willing to accept a spanish person/white person couple more so than an african american/white couple. I say trust your heart. Don't worry about what people think. You just both have to accept each others differences. You can't make him black and he can't make you white. Hold true to your heritage.
