First Car?

what is a first car that is a reasonable car on insurance, pretty decent repair prices, and that says im rich, dont mess with me?

i want something that is going to turn heads but have that touch me not appearence. something that says "that kid must have money". thanks. answers are very very appreciated.

MAX PRICE OF 19,000-20,000

First Car?
you can get a used infiniti coupe 2 door 2003-2004 for around there and they are really nice....check it out
Reply:You said used? Hell-there are plenty of NEW cars you can still get for that kind of money.

Check out the toyota corolla for instance. Very dependable car for that kind of money. Great car for a first car.

Or maybe something a little more sporty like the Chevy HHR. I like those.

Both are 4 cylinders and not "hot rods" so you wouldnt have the insurance blues.

But really if you have 20 grand to spend look for something brand new-you get a full new car warranty and know the exact history of the car-where it has came from and the such.

EDIT:

Wow i just read your question again in greater detail. If you think a 20 thousand dollar car means you are rich you need to wake up to the real world. Any Joe with a 12 dollar a hour job and half way decent credit can get a loan for a 20,000 dollar car these days.
Reply:Toyota Camery
Reply:I just bought my first car, a Honda Civic for $19,000 and I love it. If you get the two door (more expensive insurance) its really sporty looking. Hondas are very reliable, safe, have great gas mileage, reasonable to insure, and less expensive to repair. They are just great overall.
Reply:Euro cars usually do the trick, but they come with a maintenance price tag ... that is why they give the message that you want ... "I have the money to buy and run this car".

The only other option is the "customize" a more affordable car to make it look rich ... convertibles are a good way to start, since people automatically assume that they are flashy and impractical.

Stay away from ghetto looks ... they inspire the "Those rims are worth more than that POS car" attitude ... also, if you use that look and are not black .. that creates the "Wigger wannabe" response.

Also, forget Hondas with annoying exhaust. Girls think they are stupid, other drivers will laugh at you ... unless you and your buddies are gay ... stay away.
Reply:People who know how much your car costs.....know how much your car costs. They won't think you have money. They will think you paid $19,000-$20,000 for your car.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced, nice-looking, low maintenance, low repair price car...stay with something domestic and that consistently gets high reliability marks from car review magazines and from places like Consumer Reports and KBB.com.

When you start going high-end, everything related to the car becomes high-end too....insurance, upkeep, repairs, parts, etc.

If your main object is image- start with a cheap base model car and customize with expensive add-ons like sound system, wheels, rims, body trim, headlights, etc...those are the kinds of things that make people think you have extra money to spend on stuff.
Reply:thats "sluty" i guess i s a good word. you should get a nice truck or something. like a gmc sierra. they are nice.

but making ppl. turn heads isnt nice, its kind of sluty and unatractive exspecialy when you dont even hav the money! in my case i do :)
Reply:I hate to burst your bubble but 10-20K is maybe going to get you an old Lexus. If you are talking about a new car you are looking about a low end Corolla.
Reply:we just bought a 08 jeep Patriot . going from a 07 focus 4 door . our insurance dropped over $150 every 6 months
