Was it OK to touch the risen Jesus before his ascension? Is this a contradiction in the Bible?

John 20:17

Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father.

But wait . . a contradiction

Matthew 28:9

And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

Luke 24:39

Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me.

John 20:26-27

And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side.

Was it OK to touch the risen Jesus before his ascension? Is this a contradiction in the Bible?
DO you believe that Jesus ever existed? I have never got any proof!

People make gods.

Governors and leaders make religions.

Thus, the emperor Constantine made the bible, implied it by force to people. Now, the people, about 50 generations later, they try to understand the so call god sent bible and everyone gets his/ her own impression and understanding!

Thus, the masses are split and fight among each other and the governors continue to govern!
Reply:Interesting, the bible written by man inspired by God yet reiterate written by man. Man is full of contradictions so I would say yes this is a contradiction. Its interesting how men were able to touch Jesus in the other passages. The one passage when he couldn't be touch he was talking to a women. Interesting probably doesn't mean anything but interesting. Nice question to get the brain juices flowing.
Reply:Jesus did indeed go to The Father after telling the woman not to touch him. And then he made himself known to the rest. His assention after 40 some days is not what he was refering to in speaking with the woman who first met him outside the tomb. .

He also walked and ate with the two men he met on the road to Emmaus. Befor even meeting the woman.... Jesus is God, the second of The Trinity... He is the creator... he can do as he sees fit. and be touched by who will alow and forbid touch to those he will not...
Reply:The reason she must release him is that she must go testify for him in the short time remaining in view of his coming ascension—despite the cultural opposition to sending a woman to testify to such an important event and one so impossible for unbelievers to accept.

I find it ammusing how you try to find contradictions in the Bible, the Bible is the truth if you cant accept that then you will go to Hell, stop trying to find reasons to feel better about your self and you going to Hell because you do not believe in God and the living word we have today. You are just wasting your time buddy. I hope you will truely find God someday and you can direct your energy into saving people instead of trying to contradict God.
Reply:No, he just didn't want to be touched by a woman. It would have messed up the whole holy thing I guess.
Reply:In John 20:17 Jesus was telling Mary Magdalene not to cling to Him, but to go and tell the disciples that He was back.

Not a contradiction at all. Next time, read the enitre verse and it's surrounding verses before you make assumptions, smarty pants.
Reply:can you ask this question in english please
