Can u reason why the 'touch me not' plant dies when it is placed under a 100 watts bulb?

Once for my science exhibition project, I tried doing this to show the effect of the enhancing heat on sensitive plants. But I couldn't answer the judge why does that occur. Can you help me out? Also tell me the temperature of the plant at the time it withers away.

Can u reason why the 'touch me not' plant dies when it is placed under a 100 watts bulb?
if you increase temperatures it can reduce the effect of enzymes in the plant especially the ones related to photosynthesis. less photosynthesis leads to the plant starving.

it could also be the plant drying out but you probably controlled for that.

PS Ben O

plants dont use UV light they use blue light thats why they are green.
Reply:Plants don't grow very well under incandescent lights because they put out a yellowish light. Plants can only use ultraviolet light.

Plants tend to grow better in warmer environments which is why people use greenhouses for growning plants and senstive plants grow best in hot wet conditions.

Also, a 100 watt bulb can get very hot, depending on how close it was to the plant. You might have cooked it.
Reply:I would guess it dies because its enzymes de-nature at an earlier temperature perhaps ?

its a fair time since I did biology and I cant think of anything better than that.
